I received a package of Swiffer 360° Dusters for review and I admit dust is something we see a lot of in our house. The package contained the dusting handle and three dusters, and required a bit of assembly.
Overall, I was pretty pleased with the product performance. It grabbed the dust just as the packaging promised and was really great at capturing the “fly away” dust that can sometimes rise from the surface with conventional dusters. The handle was comfortable to hold and made reaching those higher spots easier to manage. It even somehow managed to make the dusting seem more fun than usual — this is always bonus for me. I really dislike housework.

I’ve been working at The Extraordinary Baby Shoppe for a number of weeks now — surrounded by the latest and greatest in diapering technology, but managing to avoid caving to my diaper-lust. Until now, at least.

Shamelessly borrowed from those wonderful ladies over at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books:
Amazon rank: (verb) 1. To censor and exclude on the basis of adult content in literature (except for Playboy, Penthouse, dogfighting and graphic novels depicting incest orgies); 2. To make changes based on inconsistent applications of standards, logic and common sense.
Etymology: from 12 April 2009 removal of sales rank figures from books on Amazon.com containing sexual, erotic, romantic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or queer content, rendering them impossible to find through basic search functions at the top of Amazon.com’s website. Titles stripped of their sales rankings include “Bastard Out of Carolina,” “Lady Chatterley’s Lover,” prominent romance novels, GLBTQ fiction novels, YA books, and narratives about gay people.
Example of usage: “I tried to do a report on Lady Chatterley’s Lover for English Lit, but my teacher amazon ranked me and I got an F on grounds that it was obscene.”
Alternate usage: “My girlfriend wanted to preserve her virginity, and I was happy to respect that, then she amazon ranked and decided anal sex was okay.”

After ’serenity now’, the television catch-phrase I most often find myself saying after a challenging day with the kids is ‘Calgon, take me away!’
Calgon doesn’t need to worry about me anymore, because Febreze has a new line of scents that draw inspiration from exotic locales around the globe. I’m in Brazil at Carnival right now, sipping a chilled drink and enjoying the hot sun — about as far away from this damp, chilly, and snowy Ottawa day as I can possibly be! Well, unless I choose to go to the Moroccan Bazaar, or lounge around on a Hawaiian beach — decisions, decisions.

A couple weeks ago, during a meat brining binge with friends, we were visited by a friendly little marmalade cat named Amos. #2, a motherly sort of boy who instinctively believes that everyone and everything is his friend, decided he was going to take Amos under his wing and show him the ropes of living in our house.
He coaxed him indoors, introduced him to the cat food dishes, showed him the boys’ room, and tried to help him make friends with our cats. Once he declared he was renaming the cat “Paul”, we decided it was time to help Amos find his way back home. Fortunately his address was on his harness and his house was around the corner. The three of us carted him back to his home and #2 said goodbye.
