Tea Cup Tuesdays: Week 4

This little group of dishes is a collection comprised of a dish I found in a rural Nova Scotia vintage china shop (called Perry’s, if I recall correctly, and very much in the middle of nowhere), a similar covered dish given to me by my grandmother, and a handcrafted silver spoon purchased by my husband (at my request! to fit the dish!) on a Swiss business trip around 15 years ago.

Tea Cup Tuesdays: Week 3

This week’s bit of pretty is a recent addition to my collection of mugs. It’s a gorgeous piece made by local artist abi lyon wicke. She is, indeed, a “maker of things” — beautiful, gorgeous things with extraordinary combinations of colour and texture.

I have admired her work for a number of years and this year, for Christmas, I asked for a new coffee mug. My family chose this for me and I love it. The only negative thing I can say about it is that its mouth is a little too small to use directly with my Aeropress, but the smile it gives me when I use it more than makes up for that!
