Term. In theory, I could have this baby boy AT ANY TIME but he’s not allowed to be born until I’ve got our downstairs somewhat sorted out. Our main floor has become a major casualty of the work going on upstairs and this is the week we try to resuscitate it.

That said, I’ve only four(!) things left on my to-do list – one of which is installing #3’s carseat in the van. At this point, it looks like the homebirth will be going ahead – as long as Junior gives me time to get the downstairs back to rights. Our house is so tiny that it doesn’t take much to reduce us to paths between boxes when we’re working on a project, and that’s where things are right now.

As I sit here with my tea, contemplating my to-do list for the day, it struck me that I’ve not updated here in awhile. To be honest, Twitter is about the extent of my attention span at the moment and lends itself nicely to the “walk-by” updates as I pass the computer during the day.

I’m at a point where I’m forcing myself to let go of certain expectations of what will get done around the house before the baby is born. I’m also at the point where the incredible drive to get it all done is ramping up. Sometimes this works and I have an incredibly productive day, but at other times it leaves me feeling directionless and overwhelmed.

In the last week my boobs have painfully inflated by at least a cup size, if not more. If gravity and movement didn’t make them excruciatingly uncomfortable, they might be kind of fun to dress up and take out on the town. As it is, I rather want to bury them under a big comfy sweatshirt and try not to move too much.

Also? Morning sickness doesn’t have to happen in the morning. Sometimes it can happen in the middle of the night, or all afternoon — I didn’t have any with #1, and only a short period of “the queasy” with #2, so I’m hoping this passes soon. Stale air (like hot air being blown around in a vehicle) and coffee (*sob*) seem to be the worst culprits as random triggers. I have been overcompensating with grapefruit. You have no idea how glad I am that white grapefruit are finally back in season!
